About the event

This is a 3-day course: 22nd of September, 29th of September and the 6th of October

Having gained our SQA Centre and Qualification Approval in 2023 we are offering a second cohort of our Forest Kindergarten Training for early years practitioners who wish to lead and gain confidence visits to local greenspaces. The course is aimed at early years, but can be adapted to suit those who wish to take their group/class/own children outdoors. Pop jess@underthetrees.co.uk an email to discuss further.

We also offer our Wild Passport training if you would like to extend your journey past Forest School training/looking for a more progressive outdoor framework.

The course is a National Workplace Award credited at Scottish Credit Qualification Framework (SCQF) Level 7, which is equivalent to National Vocational Qualification Level 4 or a Higher National Certificate (HNC).

The course is 3 full days outdoors, covering a range of practicals and theory relating to The Forest Kindergarten approach, providing skills and experience to aid in delivering sessions and boosting your confidence as an outdoor practitioner.

The qualification covers three main areas:

Place – Finding and preparing a site suitable for your group. Including Health and Safety and getting started on your journey.

People – Engaging with adults and parents, building relationships, and getting them involved in outdoor learning.

Pedagogy – encouraging exploration, inspiration, and imagination through regular nature connection.

Once you have registered you will be sent paperwork that we need returned prior to the first session, we will also give you access to our Learning Area on our website where you can access course information and resources.
