Time & Location

02 Oct 2024, 15:30 – 17:00

The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre, Glasgow Road, Whins Of Milton, Stirling FK7 0LJ, UK

About the event

What better environment to develop a child's language and literacy skills than in the outdoors - a rich, nature-based, low pressure opportunity for children to play and develop their skills without even realising that they are learning.

If you would like some fresh ideas for developing language and literacy skills in the outdoors then this training is for you. It is aimed at parents/carers who would like to support their child's development, however nursery practitioners, teachers and childminders are welcome to attend too.

We'll have play stations covering a range of literacy skills including:

~ marking making and early writing

~ talking and listening

~ speech and language development

~ early reading ideas

~ reluctant reader ideas

~ reluctant writer ideas

The cost of the training is just £10 per adult attending. You are welcome to bring children along for FREE but please book a ticket for them!

It will be delivered by Judith, an experienced Primary Teacher with lots of recent outdoors experience too.

Our training events are held outdoors, so please ensure you are suitably dressed for the weather.

Parking, toilets and a cafe are available at the Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre. Further information on where to find us on the day will be emailed to you before the event.
