About the event

This event is one of our SEA CHANGERS Workshops that are running throughout Summer 2024. These workshops are thanks to funding from sea-changers. You can find out more about the wonderful work that they do here at: https://www.sea-changers.org.uk/

This particular event will be focused on marine threats and conservation. When we visited the site in April, there were lots of nurdles present - this is a form of plastic pollution that we will aim to look for at the session. You can find out more about nurdles here: https://www.nurdlehunt.org.uk/

During the workshop there will be opportunity for you to play you part as a good citizen and help to pick up nurdles and any other litter lying along the foreshore than can endanger our coastal wildlife. For this reason, please book spaces for everyone attending, including adults, so that we can arrange to have sufficient litter picking equipment.

You will also be able to engage in a range of outdoor activities that will teach about marine threats and conservation.

The event is an outdoor event in a relatively exposed location, so please dress appropriately for the weather on the day whether this be sun protection or wind and rain protection!

The closest car park is on Snab Lane, off the A904 but a couple of other car parks are also available. Emails will be sent closer to the time with more specific instructions on how to find the site which will be on the west side of the headland that the LNR sits on.

The event is aimed at families although anyone is welcome. A safety talk will be provided at the beginning of the session but please be mindful that you will be close to the River Forth, when deciding whether it is appropriate for you to bring toddlers/young children with you. UTT staff will facilitate activities but parents/carers will be responsible for supervising any children in their care.

If you book and then find that you are no longer able to attend, please let us know so that we can make the spaces to others on the waiting list as soon as possible.

If you have any further questions, please email judith@underthetrees.co.uk
